Senpai Ako is the assistant instructor for children's classes at Phinney Neighborhood Center. She began studying Seido Karate under Kyoshi Tanaka in 1999. She has competed in tournaments in New York and Tokyo, placing second for kata in her division at the All Japan World Seido Karate Tournment in 2002. She promoted to Shodan at Honbu in 2007.
